PRO:
One of the league’s top young strong safeties started every game for the Titans in his first two NFL seasons.  He was selected in the second round (45th overall) of the 2002 draft. The Stanford graduate adapted to the Titans defense’s complicated coverage schemes with rare ease as a rookie and continued his impressive development in his second year.  He helped the team finish second in the NFL against the run in 2002 and first in the league in 2003. Williams possesses the strength, frame and hitting ability of a linebacker but has the speed of a cornerback, having been timed at 4.45 seconds in the 40 prior to being drafted.  After spending four seasons with the Titans, he was picked up by the Minnesota Vikings prior to the 2006 season.  After suffering a knee injury prior to the 2006 season, Tank hopes to get back on the field and make his presence known for the Vikings during the 2007 season.

• He was never one to watch soap operas until he visited one of his relatives in New Orleans while on Christmas holidays from school. They watched “The Young and the Restless” that week and Williams eventually became a big fan. During the season he records the show at home or watches it at the team’s practice facility.
• While at Stanford, Williams took a statistics class with Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former president Bill Clinton and current senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
• During high school, Williams recalls playing basketball against current Indiana Pacers forward Jonathan Bender, who skipped college and went directly to the NBA.
